@ Marianna
Well now, with data portability you may not need to convince your friends to join another platform. They platforms will be connected. Facebook, google and plaxo already joined in.

For my part the one thing better that facebook is the charity part! Indeed unique among social networks!

However, i guess it's still too soon and u never know how it's gonna end up, since users(like in facebook) will be able to develop new features.

Regarding facebook's applications, there's always the ignore option. You can choose if u want or not an application and it's always easy to remove it!

How about the charity part! There are so many causes that u can join!! You can spread the word really fast, u can donate, invite to the cause etc!!

I never knew that i could help feeding hungry children with just a click!

Foe example www.freerice.com you improve your english and for every right answer a quantity of rice is donated for the hungry children of the world. And many other free clicks sites. I saw them for the first time in the"feed the child with just a click" group, that has at the moment 1.056.372 members!!

There are always pros and cons! It's all about choices!

Im in facebook for my friends, even if i choose to leave, how am i suppose to convince 70 people to leave facebook, in order to be able to communicate with them, somewhere else?

About business, i'll use the words of an analyst "All business is social and personal!Business involves people and communications and we all prise 'networking' skills and opportunities"

Kaioo looks interesting. If I ever decide to get involved with another social network I'll take a closer look.

I wonder if Facebook is actually going after the younger audience to compete with MySpace? The MySpace crowd seems to have more time on their hands to network.
